Awesome weekend with my old bestest friend ever *tear of happiness*
Just ask my roomie... I practically glow talking about this.
I was over at my mom's house in Jacksonville for the weekend where my old friend lives. I go home every month to get away from college, do laundry, eat real food, etc. My friend and I recently started talking again and we really wanted to see each other. I had to get stuff done Friday and early Saturday, but by the evening my friend came over and we talked non-stop. Before we knew it, it was 5am. She went back home to sleep. Then we got back together around 2pm on Sunday. This time she took me to see her family. They were seriously my second family back in the day. I loved them over my own family. Their house is so different now and, oh my gosh, her younger sister has grown so much. I'm bummed I missed out on her growing up like she has. She used to be the little girl that would pester me all the time and play with my hair, LOL (I even miss that). Now she's in high school. Time freakin' flies. Then we went to Starbucks to get Frappuccinos and hang out before I had to go back home around 6pm.
My friend and I haven't seen each other in about 4 years. It was so sad that we drifted apart after high school. It was a gradual drift, because our lives were changing after high school. We were really tight ever since 7th grade. When we stopped talking, I honestly cried over our lost friendship many times. She meant so much to me. She was the bestest friend I ever had. Welp. Nothing has changed between us. We're just a bit older now. I felt completely comfortable all over again :)
I never imagined this happening. I thought she had probably moved on to better friends and wouldn't be interested in seeing me ever again.
We are going to try and get together again when I return to Jacksonville for Thanksgiving. I can't wait! *jigs*
You know what else rocks?? I got a message from an old high school friend Sunday night. I've been looking around online for her for YEARS. I was so afraid something had happened to her, because I was able to get in contact with all of my high school friends that I cared about after high school. But I could never find her. That message last night was such an excellent way to end off the weekend.
I love my friends :)
